India's preparations for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka have suffered another major setback after Sai Sudharsan was ruled out of both matches with a toe stress fracture.

Toe Injury Ends Sudharsan's Chances
Sudharsan was initially included in India's Test squad with hopes that he would recover in time for the series.
However, the batter has failed to regain full fitness after suffering a stress fracture in his toe and has been unable to complete his rehabilitation in time.
He did not travel to Sri Lanka with the squad, and the BCCI is yet to announce a replacement.
The injury comes at an unfortunate time for the 24-year-old, who had enjoyed an outstanding run in red-ball cricket leading into the series.

Sudharsan had firmly pushed his case for a place in India's Test XI with impressive performances on the recent India A tour.
The left-hander scored 132 and 168 during the series, continuing a rich vein of form that also included centuries in his previous first-class appearances.
His absence leaves India without one of their most in-form batters ahead of an important World Test Championship assignment.
India Running Out of Options
Sudharsan's injury adds to an already lengthy casualty list for India.
Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the series last week because of a knee problem, while Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Akash Deep are also unavailable.
Washington Sundar is expected to miss at least the opening Test, while captain Shubman Gill is currently being monitored after injuring a finger during training.
With several first-choice players unavailable, India's squad has been forced into multiple changes before a ball has even been bowled.
Padikkal Strengthens His Case
There was at least one positive development for the visitors during the ongoing warm-up match.
Batting at No. 3, Devdutt Padikkal responded with an impressive century, strengthening his chances of replacing Sudharsan in the starting XI.
His innings gives the team management an experienced left-handed option should they decide against calling up another specialist batter.
A final decision on India's batting order is expected before the first Test begins on August 15 in Galle.
